In relation to Mainland China, there is a some sentiment of what is Chinese. Much of this sentimentality stays with me in a struggle with my existence through my identities and background. There are arguments of whom are "true Chinese" between Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Overseas Chinese and Chinese descendants. In the discourse of art making Chinese, there is a magnetism in seeing how the development of art differs between regions.

Over at the Museum of Contemporary Art - Shanghai, in People's [Civilized] Park, three Taiwanese artists-friends, Kea, Mousy and Ashin, exhibited their works under Stay Real Forever.

Mousy creates an archetypical character based on his childhood, or at least, an expression of his childhood. He mass-produces these works akin to Andy Warhol minus the one imagery having reproducibility, rather, it is this archetype fitted within Pop Culture.
Ashin, of the Taiwanese band, Mayday, creates installations for his music performances and his artistic practices. His artistic practices uses a motif of the Earth placed in consumable language, such as the gumball machine and dining table--which used live ostrich eggs.
The guide, David from Yale, told me that the majority of attendees were fans of Mayday. Some even video-ed each installations which would took long hours due to their length.

It has been suggested for me to go to Hong Kong to expand my research into Chinese photography and art due to Hong Kong dissimilar history from Mainland China as its former colony status may have influenced the development of art there.
