I love Goner Fest, not just for the music but for the backstage stories. Many foreigners, outsiders, Memphians, musicians, Goners converging in the greenroom of the Hi-Tone, telling these "middle of the story" scenes. While competing with twelve other outsider photographers (non-Memphians), I don't feel the need to present the stage of performers as much I need to with the repeated angles and shots everyone else gets. I tell this story:
